Shannon Sharpe’s Awkward Interviews Strike Again—SZA Calls Out His “Tacky” BBL Question

Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast has become known for its viral moments, but not always for the right reasons. From fumbling through interviews to putting guests in uncomfortable positions, Sharpe has developed a habit of steering conversations into awkward territory. His latest moment? Dragging SZA’s body image into a conversation where it didn’t belong—and she’s not here for it.
The Grammy-winning singer recently called out Sharpe after a clip from his interview with Coco Jones surfaced, showing him randomly bringing up SZA’s past regrets about getting a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). “Now why would this be a question for Coco?” SZA commented under the video. “Poor baby, she handled it well now Shay Shay.”
During the episode, Sharpe pressed Jones on whether she had spoken to anyone who regretted getting a BBL, referencing SZA’s British Vogue interview from November 2024, where she admitted she was initially “so mad” about undergoing the surgery. Jones, clearly caught off guard, gave a polite but firm response: “Um, no. The girls that I talk to, they be like, ‘Girl, do this.’”

This isn’t the first time Sharpe’s interviewing style has raised eyebrows. Whether it’s getting too personal, making guests visibly uncomfortable, or fumbling through questions, his approach has led to several cringeworthy moments.
As for SZA, she’s made it clear she’s standing on business when it comes to how her body is discussed. And after this viral moment, it’s safe to say Sharpe might have lost a future high-profile guest.
