Boosie Badazz has dodged rap beefs, legal troubles, and the dangerous streets of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but it wasn’t an old rival or street drama that almost took him out—it was a wild night in Akron, Ohio.

The Louisiana rapper was in the middle of performing at the Field House Lounge early Monday morning when gunshots rang out, sending Boosie and the crowd into panic mode. In footage from the show, Boosie can be seen flinching as the shots fired off, before quickly ducking and running for cover.

Akron PD Deputy Chief Michael Miller confirmed that at least one shot was fired inside the venue while Boosie was on stage. The suspect, who police say entered the building through a blind spot or side door, managed to slip past security.

The shooting left three people injured—two men, aged 18 and 36, were hit in the torso inside the club, while a third man was grazed outside the venue. The shooter fled the scene on foot, and authorities do not believe Boosie was the intended target.

While Boosie is no stranger to danger—having survived past shootouts, beef with NBA YoungBoy, T.I., Webbie, and even the streets of NoLa—this incident in Akron proves that life can throw curveballs in the most unexpected places.

The venue has since apologized for the violence, and police are continuing their investigation. As for Boosie, he walked away unscathed—another close call in a life that has been anything but quiet
