NE-YO Reveals He’s Transparent About Polyamory with His Kids

Ne-Yo got the Internet going after openly admitting that he discusses his polyamorous lifestyle with his children. On a recent appearance on The Rickey Smiley Show, he revealed that he has added a fourth girlfriend to his already public polyamorous relationship, which had previously included three women. This revelation is the latest twist in Ne-Yo’s unconventional love life, which has kept him in the spotlight for months. The fourth girlfriend is a professional dancer who has been touring with Ne-Yo since 2023. She was recently spotted with Ne-Yo and his three other partners, sparking speculation that the group is now a quintuple rather than a mere quartet.

The relationship dynamic has been made public in stunning fashion. Ne-Yo and his partners posted a sultry yacht picture together, captioned, “US vs. …NOBODY. You can’t compete where you can’t compare. #PolyAndFly.” The bold declaration is a testament to how unapologetic Ne-Yo is about his love life and the lifestyle he embraces.

Ne-Yo’s journey into polyamory has been an open one, especially following his public divorce from Crystal Renay Williams. On the Lemon Drop podcast, he explained, “Society tells you you’re supposed to be with one person. You get married, and that’s supposed to be the end-all, be-all. But for me, it just wasn’t my truth.” Ne-Yo has been very vocal about how embracing polyamory has lifted a weight off his shoulders. “I was lying and trying to be somebody I wasn’t,” he admitted.

Ne-Yo’s decision to live this lifestyle has sparked strong reactions, especially when it comes to his children. Critics have raised concerns about how polyamory could impact the young ones involved. However, Ne-Yo seems unfazed by the controversy. He posted an Instagram story with a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt that read “FUN FACT: I DON’T CARE” with a caption mocking critics: “Them: ‘NEYO WE DON’T APPROVE OF YOUR POLY RELATIONSHIP!!’”

One of Ne-Yo’s partners defended their unconventional relationship, explaining, “Yes, we’re in the public eye and we know people are gonna voice their opinions. That’s expected. But y’all need to understand that over here, it’s a solid foundation. We understand each other, and we stand on 10 when it comes to each other. A lot of people will never understand that, and that’s cool. Just know it’s US VS NOBODY.”
