Drake is already DEEP in a rap war with Kendrick Lamar, but could he now have issues with one of the most un-beef-prone people in the industry—DJ Khaled?
A few days ago, DJ Khaled took to social media to announce his upcoming album, Aalam of God, in an action-packed short film featuring Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos. Throughout the teaser, Khaled excitedly hyped up the album and name-dropped Drake, stating that two new songs with the Canadian rapper would be featured. However, things took a weird turn when Drake himself trolled Khaled in the comments, writing, “Must be @drakebell”—a reference to the former Nickelodeon star. Shortly after, Khaled deleted the Instagram post, though the teaser remained on X for a while before also being removed.
This situation comes at a time when Drake is already in the fight of his life against Kendrick Lamar. Their long-standing tension erupted again after Kendrick seemingly took shots at Drake on Like That, his track with Future and Metro Boomin. Fans immediately latched onto the diss, with many speculating that Drake’s silence means he’s struggling to respond effectively.
Meanwhile, Drake is currently on his Anita Max Win Tour in Australia and New Zealand, where he’s been using his performances to send a message. On opening night, he walked on stage in a black hoodie covered in bullet hole graphics with smoke trailing behind him, symbolizing the lyrical shots he’s taken lately. He declared, “Drizzy Drake is very much still alive,” making it clear that, despite the public perception, he’s still standing.
If there’s real tension between Drake and DJ Khaled, this could be an unfortunate misstep on Drake’s part. Khaled has been one of Drake’s most consistent collaborators, with the duo working together on major hits like:
•“I’m On One” (2011)
•“No New Friends” (2013)
•“For Free” (2016)
•“To the Max” (2017)
•“Popstar” (2020)
•“Greece” (2020)
Right now, Drake needs as many allies as possible, given the damage Kendrick’s diss has already done. While Khaled hasn’t addressed the situation further, it would be in Drake’s best interest to make sure there’s no real fallout. Whether this is just a miscommunication or a sign of something deeper, only time will tell if Aalam of God will still feature those two rumored Drake tracks—or if this is yet another L during an already rough season for Drizzy. DRAKE FIGHT BACK, by playing nice!
