Police Request for Nicki Minaj Arrest Warrant Denied

Could we be saying #FreeNickiMinaj soon? Nicki Minaj is back in the headlines, and this time it’s allegedly for putting hands on Brandon Garrett, her former “day-to-day manager.”
Garrett is taking her to court, claiming Nicki gave him a backstage beatdown after a Detroit concert on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, gets messy. According to Garrett, it all started with a simple ice cream run—yes, ice cream. He says Nicki sent him out to satisfy her sweet tooth, but things got rocky when he delegated the task of picking up her prescription to another staffer. When Garrett got back, Nicki allegedly switched from queen of rap to queen of smack, accusing him of slacking on the job.
“Are you (expletive) crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your (expletive) mind, and if my husband were here, he would knock out your (expletive) teeth,” she allegedly told Garrett. “You’re a dead man walking. You just (messed) up your whole life, and you will never be anyone. I’ll make sure of it.”
Now, if you know Nicki’s history, this isn’t surprising. She has always claimed to be about the street life, even allegedly being gang-affiliated, referring to herself as “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” She’s been known to let her “gangster” side out, from beefing with Cardi B to throwing serious shade in interviews. So, this lawsuit isn’t exactly shocking.
Nicki’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, isn’t sweating it though. He called the claims “false and frivolous,” confident this ex-assistant’s case will crumble. Most recently, a warrant for the rapper’s arrest, requested by the cops, was denied due to “insufficient evidence” proving a crime had been committed.
Hopefully, this will be the end of Nicki’s legal troubles for the year, and she can get back to making classic albums.
