Kash Doll stopped by The Morning Hustle to promote her latest album, The Latest Doll, and gave fans a deep dive into her life as a mom, artist, and Detroit native navigating new chapters.
Now a mother of two, Kash Doll opened up about how motherhood has changed her outlook and identity. Known for her bold persona, Kash shared that she’s stepping away from the “Doll” image as she grows into this new role. In fact, she’s passed the name down to her daughter, whose middle name is now “Doll.” “I don’t want to be a doll anymore,” she said, explaining that for her, it’s a symbol of growth and maturity.
Motherhood also comes with its quirks. Her daughter, who serves as a “natural alarm clock,” keeps her on her toes with her bossy personality. Kash laughed, explaining how her daughter’s demanding nature balances with her own more laid-back approach.
As she prepares for her first solo tour, Kash Doll is fully immersed in the creative process of bringing The Latest Doll to life on stage. “I’m excited to play with the term ‘doll’ in so many creative ways,” she explained, noting that she’s been hands-on with every detail of her tour set. For the album cover itself, she tapped into her own creativity, envisioning and executing the entire concept.
Kash also hinted at a future passion project—designing her own line of dolls someday. It’s clear that her creativity extends well beyond music and is something she’s eager to explore further.
Kash Doll has had her share of challenges, including a recent home invasion. While she was grateful no one was harmed this time, she expressed hurt over the loss of personal items, including her cherished designer bags. She revealed this was actually her second experience with a break-in, though the first one was even scarier, with her sister and son home at the time. Fortunately, police acted quickly this time, and one of the intruders is currently in critical condition.
Despite the difficulties, Kash continues to find strength through her music and support from her family.
For fans wondering, Kash Doll is still very much in love with her iconic shark boots! She also expressed admiration for rapper Latto, doubling down on her appreciation for both the artist and their collaboration.
Her latest single, “Comfy,” features Tiny and samples Weezy, which Kash calls a tribute to her past performances at Weezy Fest. She’s even hoping Lil Wayne himself will jump on a remix. “I just wanted to do a female version of Weezy,” she said, describing the track as a blend of confidence and homage to a hip-hop legend.
Kash also addressed her recent split with her child’s father, emphasizing that the decision was mutual. “We just knew it was time,” she said. The two remain on good terms, describing her ex as “my dog,” while joking that he’ll always be one of those baby daddies who tries to talk to her.
As for her love life, Kash is focused on her kids and her career for now. But she’s open to romance, adding, “If it comes my way, I’m not fighting it.” She admitted that while she doesn’t have a specific “type,” she’s drawn to people who make her feel special in a way that stands out from the norm.
Reflecting on her role in BMF and her Detroit roots, Kash Doll shared her pride in representing her city. “I loved working with BMF, especially being from Detroit,” she said, celebrating Big Meech’s recent release and commenting on his flashy new jewelry.
Kash also responded to those who criticize her maturity and sense of style, joking, “I know I don’t look old! Getting older is a blessing, but at the same time—wait for me to get there.”
Kash Doll’s visit to The Morning Hustle showed fans the artist’s more personal side. As she gears up for her tour, balances motherhood, and embraces new chapters, she’s proving there’s much more to her than the “Doll” label.
