President Joe Biden to Visit Philadelphia Today; Here’s What to Know

President Joe Biden and his VP – Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris – will be making separate trips to Philadelphia this week.
President Joe Biden is scheduled to start his Monday departing from the White House at 9. a.m. to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport at 1:15 p.m., according to his public schedule.
From there, he’ll travel to Center City, where he’s scheduled to begin his speech at the National Historically Black Colleges and Universities Week Conference at the Marriott Downtown at 2:30 p.m.
The president is expected to deliver his remarks at 3:15 p.m. at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1200 Filbert St. President Biden is expected to leave the city at 4 p.m.
According to CBS Philly, Harris will be in Philadelphia on Tuesday, where she’ll take part in an interview with the National Association of Black Journalists. It will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. at WHYY in Center City. The event, which isn’t open to the public, will be attended by NABJ professional and student members, and 100 journalism and communications students from local HBCUs were invited.
Harris was just in Philadelphia last week for her first presidential debate against former President Donald Trump at the National Constitution Center.
According to sources, Philadelphia police have not announced any specific road closures. However, you can expect rolling shutdowns on I-95 as Biden travels to Center City from the airport and the same for his returning trip. There will also likely be closures surrounding the Marriott Downtown on Market and Filbert Streets.
