Despite his aversion to public recognition, Fridayy shared his positive experiences performing at the BET Experince this year. Although he typically avoids going out in Los Angeles, he loves the energy during BET weekend. This was his second year attending the awards. Before his success, he and a friend used to try buying their way into the event to network. Now, times have changed; instead of chasing artists to collaborate with, they are coming to him with requests.
Fridayy also discussed his BET nomination for Best Male R&B Artist, acknowledging the stiff competition but expressing confidence in his chances due to the hard work he has put in.
Fridayy, a Haitian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2022. He gained recognition by guest performing on hit songs like “Forever” by Lil Baby and the title track of DJ Khaled’s album “God Did.” Both songs peaked within the top 20 of the US Billboard Hot 100, with the latter earning him three Grammy Award nominations. His 2023 single, “When It Comes to You,” marked his first entry on the chart as a lead artist.
